Our Charity of the Month is Airdrie-based St Andrew's Hospice.

St Andrew's HospiceThe charity, which needs £44,000 per week to operate, provides specialist palliative care for patients suffering from life-limiting illnesses, and is open to all.

Specialist staff deliver support and care to patients and famillies, making an incredibly difficult time just that little bit easier.

St Andrew's Hospice offer a 30 bed palliative care unit as well as a day hospice giving care to 60 patients each week.

For those in need of much-needed support, the hospice also have a 24-hour telephone palliative care advice line.

Crucial for families and patients in the area and free of charge, St Andrew's rely on £2.2million of public donations each year, in order to maintain their fantastic service.
